The official quarantine uniform of lockdown 2020 has to be tie-dye!

Synonymous with the 1960’s, tie-dye will forever be associated with a free-spirited hippy lifestyle. In 2019 catwalk runways predicted the return of the blended brightly coloured print, but last year it didn’t make much of an impact, that is until lockdown happened in 2020. Tie dye has become the latest lockdown fashion winner.

There has been a massive trend towards people at home tie-dying their t-shirts, joggers, dresses and anything else they can get hold of. People are becoming obsessed with tie-dying their clothes that it’s become the hottest quarantine pastime. Search terms such as ‘DIY tie-dye’ and ‘tie-dye sweatshirt’ surged in popularity on Google and You Tube over the past couple of weeks. One of the positives of this trend is that people are upcycling clothes they already own without leaving the house.

Celebs such as Laura Whitmore have been showcasing their tie-dye wardrobes on Instagram. Other Instagram influencers have been using the pastime to get their kids involved whilst home schooling.
