The last couple of Winter’s the knitted dress has had a resurgence but it’s updated for 2022. These easy to throw on dresses can be worn for work, weekend, the school run or out for evening all depending on your footwear. I wear mine with trainers and boots, with bare legs right now and thick black tights in the colder weeks. I love that it keeps me warm when working from home, I can pop on a blazer for work appointments and then a leather biker for evenings out. It’s so versatile you will wonder what you did without one!

Wondering what to get this season to bring your wardrobe upto date, well don’t fear here is my Top 5 pieces to invest in and last through Summer.
STRIPE SHIRT
Stripes are everywhere this season, see my blog post ‘Bold Spring stripes’ for more inspiration. But the stripe shirt is the wardrobe hero for this whole year. Wear it tucked into jeans, loose with skirts, over swimwear or open with smart trousers, this versatile piece will ensure it becomes your uniform for the coming weeks (well it is mine!).
NECK SCARVES
The newest accessory that you add to any outfit, but mainly with shirts as above, jumpsuits and to add styling detail to plain t-shirts and blazers.
CREAM /WHITE SHOES
Something that instantly updates your outfit and makes it look more Spring like are lighter coloured shoes. The trend for cream of white footwear has been growing for a while and this is a great time to invest in something that will also work through Autumn.
DENIM
Denim is having a comeback, especially in shirts and dresses this season. Pair the shirts with smart trousers, skirts or hanging loose over vests.
SHIRT DRESSES
The shirt dress is uncomprimising and a wardrobe staple in anyones wardrobe, update it with stripes, prints or bright colours this season.
You may still be living in joggers, activewear and anything else that is comfy, but the end is in sight and how are you going to dress as lockdown starts easing? Little did we know a year ago that we would still be in a lockdown but at least this time there’s a bit more hope on the horizon, so now is the time to start planning what you will be wearing in the coming weeks when you diary will finally be filling up.
There are many things we have all missed out on over the past year but in the coming weeks the temperature will increase, Spring has truly sprung with the evenings getting lighter so there will be more of a need to start re-wearing items in your wardrobe. So I have put together 5 outfits for possible things that you might be looking forward to doing (not just trips to the supermarket), things that perhaps 2 years ago were just part of our normal lives but now are slightly unsure of how to dress for them now.
It’s ok to feel anxious about coming out of lockdown, whether it’s worrying about what to wear, how to dress appropriately and how to get inspired about clothes again. Take a good look at what you have in your wardrobe, assess what you have, try things on and get to know your clothes again, this way you will understand whether you need to add some bits in to make new outfits or not. If you feel that lockdown has pulled you into a style rut, I hope these outfits give you some inspiration but if you need more help then please do email me for a chat.

Winter is in the air, which means it’s time to grab your coats and wrap up warm against those chilly Winter mornings. If you coat has seen better days then now is the time to invest in a new one, something that’s both stylish and practical, warm yet flattering - hard to find right? Then let me guide you through which silhouettes, fabrics and shapes will keep you looking upto date and see you through the cold days.
No matter how varied your style is I bet that there’s one item of clothing you wear day in, day out: your winter coat. So why not make it the best item you buy all year. A good coat should be at the very core of everyone’s cold-weather wardrobe, and can last for years, if not decades. Plus, a nice coat is a way to dress up without having to do much. You can throw on a leopard print wool coat over a hoodie and jeans for a midday walk with a friend or swaddle yourself in a full-length puffer that makes you feel like you’re still in the comfort of your own bed when you are on the school run. There are so many different styles out there right now it’s hard to chose just one.
But that’s my top tip, don’t limit yourself to just one coat thinking that it will be fine for every occasion you might have in your life. Think about you lifestyle, what do you do, work, kids, dog, social, hobbies, where and when do you wear your coat for will dictate what you need. Each coat can give you a different look, be more practical than another one, or make a statement, you have to think about what is important to you and it might be you need 3 coats to tick every box in your life.
Over the past few weeks I’ve shopped coats for clients and for myself, so I can guarantee you will find your new favourite from my list below.
